All-on-4 Dental Implants

Traditional dental implants can hold a denture firmly in place, but not everyone qualifies for treatment after tooth loss.

Our dentists perform the All-on-4® method, which uses just four implants to support a full-arch denture without the need for bone grafting.

See how Kasperowski Family Dentistry in Westfield, MA, can use All-on-4 dental implants to help you chew comfortably and smile confidently.

The All-on-4 Method Can Change Your Life

The All-on-4 dental implant technique is a tried-and-true solution for tooth loss. This method is unique and offers benefits such as:

Less Prep Work

Because jawbone deterioration accompanies tooth loss, traditional implant patients often need to undergo preparatory procedures like bone grafting to restore their candidacy for treatment. A dentist using the All-on-4 method places implants in areas of the highest bone density, allowing patients to enjoy the same great results without the need for this preparatory procedure.

Improved Confidence

Missing teeth can cause you to hide your smile and feel uncomfortable in social situations. The All-on-4 method can firmly support a denture that is virtually indistinguishable from natural teeth. Patients often report feeling more confident when smiling and talking with loved ones after treatment.

A Healthier Diet

Missing teeth can make chewing difficult, causing you to avoid some of your favorite foods and healthy foods like raw vegetables and nuts. With restored function, you can re-introduce these foods into your diet, allowing you to eat meals you love and improve your overall wellness.

Prevent Jawbone Atrophy

Tooth loss leads to jawbone loss, which can create further oral health problems and changes to your facial appearance. Dental implants prevent jawbone atrophy and keep these other problems from developing.

A Single Surgery

Patients sometimes think that because they're receiving four implants, they will have to undergo many surgeries at our office in Westfield. This isn't the case. All-on-4 implants can be placed in one surgery, and patients usually go home with a lifelike temporary denture on the same day. You won't have to wait for restored dental function.

See How All-on-4 Works

Four dental implants are placed in the areas of the jawbone that have the highest bone density. They are strategically angled to maximize contact with the bone tissue and provide the best stability. Abutments are then connected to the implants to secure a denture in place.

Preparatory Procedures

Though you may not require bone grafting before your dental procedure, one of our dentists may have to perform tooth extraction or gum disease treatment to improve your oral health and prepare for your dental implant placement.

Digital Scans

We will use our 3D cone-beam scanner to take X-rays of the bones and soft tissues in your mouth and jaw. These scans will be used to plan your dental implant placement.

Anesthesia

Before one of our Westfield dentists begins your dental implant placement surgery, they will administer anesthesia to ensure your comfort throughout your procedure.

Implant Placement

Your dentist will make small incisions in your gums and use your digital scans to place your implants at the precise angle, location, and depth that is best for your unique anatomy.

Temporary Denture

Your dentist will affix temporary replacement teeth to the abutments and make sure they are held firmly in place. You will then be free to leave our office and begin a 4–6 month recovery period with a fully functional smile.

Permanent Denture

It will take a few weeks for your full-arch permanent denture to be made at a trusted dental lab. Once it is complete and you have healed from implant surgery, you can return to our Westfield office so one of our dentists can secure the denture in place.

Caring for Your Implants and Denture

When cared for properly, your denture can last upwards of 10 years, and your implants can last for the rest of your life. Our dental team recommends:

Following an At-Home Routine

You can brush and floss your denture like you would your natural teeth. This will remove debris and plaque buildup, keeping your denture in good condition. It will also help maintain your oral health and contribute to a healthy oral environment for your dental implants.

Attending Regular Checkups

Attending appointments with our dental team every six months will allow us to maintain your oral health, give your replacement teeth a thorough cleaning, and determine when it's time to replace your denture.

"Our team of dental professionals understands that the health of your smile has a dramatic impact on your physical and emotional well-being. Our goal is to help you achieve optimal oral health by providing comprehensive examination and diagnosis along with a strong emphasis on preventative care and education."
